I built a Mac app that finds every local project and shows what it's made of, what's running and what version it needs

Wait 5 sec.

A couple of weeks ago I posted here about Lokstack's lanes for AI agents. A few people asked what the rest of the app does, so this is the everyday part, the bit most people will actually use. The problem: I have a lot of projects on my Mac, some Node, some PHP. Each one needs a different Node or PHP version, a different database and a different start command, and I never remember which. Activity Monitor shows processes, Docker Desktop shows containers, and nothing ties them back to a project. So you point Lokstack at your projects folder and it finds them. For each one it shows the stack it detected from your dependencies (framework, database, queues, auth, payments), the Node and PHP version it wants against the one in use, every process started from that folder whoever started it, its ports, its database connections and its Docker containers. Installed tools lists every Node, PHP, Postgres and Redis on the Mac, from nvm, Homebrew or Herd, side by side. A few small things I use all the time: ⌘K finds any project, page or port. You can turn on myapp.localhost instead of remembering localhost:3000 (off until you turn it on, and only your Mac can use it). And Start remembers how each project runs. All of that is free, with no account, and the app has no analytics. macOS 13+, Apple Silicon and Intel. https://lokstack.app What would you want to see first when you open a project? I'm deciding what goes at the top of the overview. submitted by /u/tjthouhid1 [link] [comments]
