I’m a new grad nurse in Ontario, Canada. I recently passed my NCLEX and have completed all my requirements with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The only thing left is paying my registration fee. With how difficult the job market is for new grad nurses in Ontario right now, I’m debating whether it’s worth registering now or waiting until January to avoid paying the fee twice. I’m interested in applying through Ontario’s New Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program, but I need my CNO registration number first. I was wondering: Are there currently many NGG positions available, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)? Would I have a better chance of finding a position if I started applying now rather than waiting until January? Since another group of nursing students will be graduating in December, would waiting until January make the job market even more competitive? I’d appreciate any insight from Ontario nurses or recent grads familiar with the current hiring situation. Thanks! submitted by /u/New-Professional3646 [link] [comments]
