H1 Retest Before Bearish ContinuationGoldOANDA:XAUUSDMason_DrakeGold is trading around 3,898, attempting to stabilize after last week’s aggressive selloff pushed price to its lowest level in roughly one year. The macro environment remains restrictive. Inflation is still running well above the Fed’s target, U.S. growth remains resilient, and markets continue to anticipate further tightening. Softer oil at the start of the week may provide some short-term relief, but it does not yet change the broader pressure on Gold. Technical View The H1 structure remains bearish. Gold initially developed a bullish channel with several BOS, but the latest CHoCH near the 4,02x structure marked a clear shift in momentum. Price then broke sharply lower through the Fibonacci retracement levels and produced strong bearish displacement toward the 3,88x area. Gold is currently holding inside the 3,885–3,905 Current Demand Zone. After such an extended move, a corrective rebound is technically reasonable. However, the first important resistance now sits at 3,934–3,951 Retest / Reaction Zone. This area represents the key H1 POI for the next directional decision. Key Zones 4,068–4,084 — Major Supply Zone 3,934–3,951 — Retest / Reaction Zone 3,885–3,905 — Current Demand Zone 3,820–3,833 — Major Downside Target Trading Plan Sell Priority The main scenario is to allow Gold to react from the 3,885–3,905 Current Demand Zone and recover toward 3,934–3,951. I do not want to chase the current bearish extension near 3,900. The preferred condition is a corrective rally into the Retest / Reaction Zone, followed by clear H1 rejection or failure to establish sustained acceptance above 3,951. If sellers regain control from this area, I will favor another rotation through the current demand structure. A decisive breakdown below 3,885 would then reopen the path toward the 3,820–3,833 Major Downside Target. The projected sequence is: 3,885–3,905 reaction → 3,934–3,951 retest → bearish confirmation → expansion toward 3,820–3,833. Important Note Gold is already deeply extended after a strong multi-session decline. That makes location especially important. A rebound into 3,934–3,951 should not automatically be interpreted as a bullish reversal. It remains corrective unless buyers can reclaim the zone and establish stronger H1 structure above it. Sustained acceptance above 3,951 would weaken the immediate bearish continuation thesis and require reassessment. Sell View The sell-side view remains preferred, but only from a cleaner location. The stronger H1 setup is not to sell directly around 3,898. The better structural area is 3,934–3,951, where a corrective rebound can meet previous breakdown structure. Confirmation from that zone matters more than predicting the exact top. Final View Gold remains under bearish H1 control, but price is currently sitting inside demand after an extended selloff. The immediate focus is therefore on the quality of the rebound. If 3,885–3,905 produces a corrective recovery, 3,934–3,951 becomes the key zone where sellers need to respond. A confirmed rejection there would keep the broader downside structure intact and reopen the path toward 3,820–3,833. For now, the plan is simple: let price retrace into resistance first, then judge whether sellers are ready to resume control.
