LEXINGTON, KY – The action in Lexington shifts from the racetrack to the sales ring Monday for the star-studded Fasig-Tipton November Sale. The one-session boutique auction gained some added glitter over the weekend, with a pair of newly minted Breeders' Cup winners, and another two who hit the board at the championships at Keeneland.“It's one of the great nights of the year for us,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning, Jr. “We have a fantastic catalogue again this year. We love the position that we have, we love the catalogue that we have.”The auction begins at 2 p.m. and opens with an offering of 106 weanlings before transitioning on to 110 catalogued racing and broodmare prospects. The catalogue features 24 Grade I winners or producers and nearly 60 graded stakes winners and producers.Ways and Means (Practical Joke) (hip 161) will enter the Fasig-Tipton ring Monday night fresh off her dominating win in the GI Breeders' Cup F/M Sprint. The 5-year-old mare is consigned by Elite, agent. Kathynmarissa (American Pharoah) (hip 208) comes into the auction off her victory in the GI Breeders' Cup F/M Turf. She will be consigned by Gainesway.Ways and Means | Mathea KelleyJancis (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}) (hip 219), third in the F/M Turf, is consigned by Brookdale. Cy Fair (Not This Time) (hip 182), winner of last year's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, will head through the sales ring at Fasig-Tipton two days after her runner-up effort in the GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint. She is consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency.Others with connections to Breeders' Cup runners include In It for the Gold (Speightstown) (hip 202), whose son Englishman (Maxfield) was second in the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint. The mare, along with her weanling colt by Tiz the Law (hip 97) are consigned by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services on behalf of Country Life Farm & Partners.Philly's Finest (Flameaway), a half-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Further Ado (Gun Runner), will be offered in foal to Sierra Leone as hip 132 with the Lane's End consignment. The broodmare prospect Wesawtaylorinparis (Nyquist) (hip 212), consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, is a full-sister to Friday's GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Emphatic. The Breeders' Cup returned to Lexington after spending the last three years on the West Coast.“I think it makes it logistically much easier,” Browning said of the hometown championships. “We don't have to worry about getting horses from California to Kentucky. It makes it easier for both people and horses getting back.”Asked if the November sale had extra buzz when the Breeders' Cup was held in Kentucky, Browning said, “You might have a few additional end-users that might be in person, but historically I don't think there is a dramatic difference whether it's in Kentucky or California, or when it's in New York next year. The quality of horses we have in this sale really speaks for itself. We are really more dependent on success on Friday and Saturday than we are on the location of the event.”Streak of Luck (Old Fashioned) who entered the sales ring just days after her son Ted Noffey (Into Mischief) won the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile, topped the 2025 Fasig-Tipton November sale when selling for $6.2 million. The mare was one of 27 offerings to bring seven figures at the auction. The Fasig-Tipton November sale caters to the top of the market and provides buyers the quality they demand, according to Browning.“I think the unique thing about our November sale is it's basically positioned towards the upper end of the market, both in terms of the foals that we have and the mares that we have–both fillies and mares coming off the racetrack and in-foal mares,” he said. “So it should be ideally positioned to take advantage of the strength of the market.”The post ‘One of the Great Nights of the Year’: Stars Come Out at Fasig-Tipton appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
