Tiger Woods’ son Charlie produces stunning display to help clinch yet another title

Charlie Woods has successfully helped Benjamin High School claim the regional championship. The 17-year-old son of 15-time Major winner Tiger Woods made the headlines in late October after sinking a 40-foot birdie in tough conditions to clinch individual honors. Woods helped Benjamin High School win the regional Florida title on MondayGettyOn that occasion, he shot a 69, while his teammate Brooks Colton shot a 70 to help give Benjamin a team score of 290. His contributions helped the Buccaneers finish 15 strokes ahead of runners-up and fellow Palm Beach County program, Oxbridge to secure the Class 1A-District 14 Championship. But Woods has showed zero signs of slowing down. In Monday’s regional championship at the Miami Shores Country Club, Woods carded a 1-under 70, tying him with Colton on the day. As a team, Benjamin shot 283, which tied their familiar rivals Oxbridge, ultimately seeing the two teams battle in a sudden-death tiebreaker for regional championship honors. The Buccaneers ultimately came out on top to secure the regional Florida title.“We hung in there,” Benjamin head coach Toby Harbeck said. “We hit a lot of pars. “When the smoke cleared, we were there on top. We were one shot with Oxbridge the whole day, back and forth, back and forth.”Tiger and Charlie could team up at PNC ChampionshipWoods could yet take to the course again with his father before 2026 comes to an end. This comes amid reports that the PNC Championship are holding a spot for the pair, should 50-year-old Tiger be healthy enough to compete. Tiger Woods is nearing a competitive comeback and is set to compete in the new TGL season in DecemberGettyThe PNC Championship are reportedly holding a place for Tiger and Charlie should they wish to competeGettyThe senior Woods has not competed since he suited up for Jupiter Links Golf Club at the latter stages of the 2026 TGL season in March having been dealing with a back injury. But he was involved in a car crash in March which has kept him out of action since. Having recently announced his intentions to return to captain Jupiter Links in the upcoming TGL season starting in December, there is optimism that Woods may take to The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Grande Lakes with his son as somewhat of a warm-up event.Due to the tournament’s 36-hole scramble format, he would be able to use a golf cart, as well as having the freedom to share the workload with his son. As a result, this would therefore reduce the physical demands that could aggravate any injury he could still be carrying. The father-son duo have paired up to compete in the PNC Championship on five previous occasions, and have a highest finish of second-place, doing so in the 2021 and 2024 editions of the tournament. The latter is more memorable due to a then-15-year-old Woods recording the first hole-in-one of his career.Should they opt to take the PNC’s invitation to compete, with Charlie’s fine form for his high school, they could perhaps look to go one step further and add a new title to the resumé.Sign up for talkSPORT Stateside, the YouTube channel dedicated to passionate US Sports fans. Will Gavin, Brian T.
