Finance Minister Clyde Caruana has found a rather musical way to respond to Opposition Leader Alex Borg after yesterday’s Budget speech. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Caruana has posted a cheeky video on social media featuring clips of Borg’s parliamentary speech, complete with a counter that ticks upwards every time Borg mentions his name. And the soundtrack? “Love Is In The Air.”Captioning the video with the same words, Caruana appears to be poking fun at just how much attention he received from the Opposition Leader during his reply to Budget 2027.The video cuts between Borg speaking in Parliament and clips from the song’s music video, turning their political back-and-forth into an unlikely love story. It comes just a day after Borg hit back at Caruana over his comments on mass transport.Caruana had warned that introducing a mass transport system could “royally screw Malta”, prompting Borg to respond that the country was “already royally screwed” by traffic congestion. Now, rather than responding with another lengthy political statement, Caruana has opted for a song, a running counter and a little sarcasm.Who said Maltese politics couldn’t be romantic?Facebook Video: Clyde Caruana•
