For fans & users of the old Media Player Classic - Home Cinema on windows, we now have it on PS5!

Wait 5 sec.

For the past couple of weeks I've been one of the people providing feedback on the new versions of the app as this wonderful GitHub user constantly fixed and improved it. Now it has so much customization for key bindings, shortcuts, mouse pointer on the trackpad, subtitles, audio tracks and so much more. I've already watched a bunch of 4K HDR files in it and it's awesome, having the Dualsense as your controller with customized keys and also having it connected to my headphones via the headset jack for minimal latency audio. I wanna spread the word and help this project get recognition amongst PS5 media players in the homebrew scene. If anyone wants an easy to use or familiar media player interface that funcions highly similar to MPC-HC on Windows, this one is perfect. Here's a quick overview: A port of Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC 1.7.13) to the PlayStation 5: MPC-HC's window, menus, toolbar, seek bar, status bar, dialogs and keyboard behaviour, drawn as Windows 10 draws them, on a native PS5 app that plays video and music from USB drives, the console's storage, disc drives (the PS5's own and USB drives: data discs, unencrypted DVD-Video and Blu-ray), Windows/Samba network shares (SMB) and the Internet (HTTP/HTTPS, HLS). On Windows MPC-HC plays through DirectShow and LAV Filters, which are FFmpeg inside; here the playback engine is FFmpeg 7.1.1 itself (with dav1d for AV1), built for the console, and SMB shares are read with libsmb2, the library VLC's SMB module uses. It works perfectly on my PS5 (13.60, Relapse), as you can just download the app folder, uncompress it and paste it into the Homebrew folder to let Shadowmount mount it.
