Guests have lost access to Stitch at one Disney park. While Stitch is one of Disney’s most bankable characters (it reportedly sold more than $4 billion worth of Stitch merch in fiscal 2025 alone), the beloved blue alien has surprisingly little representation at Disney’s theme parks. For example, at Walt Disney World, guests can meet Stitch at Magic Kingdom or during breakfast at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Disneyland Resort offers occasional character appearances, while Lilo and Stitch also feature in Disneyland’s “it’s a small world.” Neither American resort currently has a dedicated Stitch attraction.Credit: Tokyo Disney ResortOverseas, Disneyland Paris offers the interactive Stitch Live! show, while Tokyo Disneyland has a Stitch-themed Enchanted Tiki Room. Shanghai Disneyland features Space Chat with Stitch and character encounters, while Hong Kong Disneyland also includes Lilo and Stitch in its own “it’s a small world.”But until yesterday, guests had one more opportunity to see Stitch.Disney Park Pulls Stitch ShowAs of November 2, Tokyo Disney Resort has closed Stitch Encounter.Tokyo Disneyland’s Stitch Encounter typically offers guests the chance to interact with the mischievous alien in real time. The closure is temporary, with the attraction expected to reopen on December 1.The park’s operator, The Oriental Land Company, has not specified the reason for the month-long shutdown. However, considering its relatively short timeframe, it’s safe to assume no major changes are expected for the show.Credit: DisneyAlthough the shutdown isn’t permanent, it marks the immediate removal of a Stitch attraction from Tokyo Disneyland’s operating lineup.Stitch Encounter isn’t the only attraction currently closed at Tokyo Disneyland. Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall has been out of operation since October 1, while Swiss Family Treehouse faces an uncertain future. The latter has been closed since 2022, with no reopening date announced, raising the possibility that it may never reopen.Walt Disney World previously had its own Stitch attraction, Stitch’s Great Escape!, which opened at Magic Kingdom in 2004, replacing ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. The interactive Tomorrowland show saw Stitch escape captivity and wreak havoc on guests. Following mixed reviews (to say the least), Disney reduced its operating schedule in 2016 before closing it in 2018. The closure became permanent in 2020.Credit: DisneyHowever, Stitch could receive more representation at Disney’s theme parks in the future. The live-action Lilo & Stitch (2025) grossed over $1 billion worldwide, prompting Disney to greenlight a sequel, which is now in production (and will star Stitch’s pink counterpart, Angel). With the franchise enjoying renewed popularity, further Stitch-themed attractions and experiences certainly aren’t out of the question.Do you think Stitch deserves better representation at Disney’s theme parks? The post Confirmed: Stitch Pulled From Disney Park, Effective Immediately appeared first on Inside the Magic.
