Cole Campbell celebrated his first senior goal in Germany on Saturday.Campbell scored Elversberg’s second goal in Saturday’s 3-2 Bundesliga victory over Bayer Leverkusen. The American attacker started and played 65 minutes in the match, continuing the early stages of his new chapter with the newly-promoted club. A turnover by the Bayer Leverkusen backline allowed Campbell to pounce on a loose ball before drilling a shot into the bottom corner. However, Vincent Wagner’s squad would hang on to claim a first three points of the new season. Campbell logged 65 minutes, registered three shots on target, and drew two fouls from his left midfield position. Fellow American attacker Malik Tillman played 65 minutes in the loss for Bayer Leverkusen. Elversberg will next travel to Borussia Moenchengladbach on September 5 in its first road Bundesliga match of the new campaign.
