The only filly to beat Fully Subscribed (f, 4, Tiz the Law–Sweetbaby, by Candy Ride {Arg}) in her two previous starts this summer at Saratoga was Nitrogen (Medaglia d'Oro), the undisputed leader of the older filly and mare division. Last year's 3-year-old filly champ, Nitrogen sat out the GI Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga Saturday and ran instead in the Aug. 8 GI Whitney Stakes, finishing a more-than-respectable second over the big boys to reigning Horse of the Year Sovereignty (Into Mischief).An improving Fully Subscribed took full advantage of Nitrogen's absence Saturday in the Personal Ensign Stakes in an electric performance that left many believing the 4-year-old will be a worthy adversary for Nitrogen in the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff at Keeneland in two months. The Personal Ensign is a 'Win and You're In' race, offering a fees-paid berth to the Distaff for Fully Subscribed.In the Personal Ensign, Fully Subscribed, no secret at 4-5, sat a joint third along the rail as Snowyte (Good Magic) set the :24.11 and :47.64 pace while second choice and last year's powerhouse GI CCA Oaks winner Scottish Lassie (McKinzie) stalked in second. Rounding the turn, Scottish Lassie drew alongside Snowyte, but Fully Subscribed quickly collared the latter and went right on by, sailing home an eight or nine length victress.
