Veteran singer and music producer David Washington shared about an interesting chapter of his music career when he worked with singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, better known as Bobi Wine.Washington described working with Bobi Wine as both challenging and exciting, noting that despite the difficulties they encountered, their collaborations ultimately produced good results.He recalled how Bobi Wine approached him in the early days of his career with the idea of recording a song titled Wendi. Although Washington admits he initially struggled to understand what Bobi Wine was trying to achieve with the song, they went ahead and completed the project successfully. I have my musician known as Ssentamu Robert, whom many refer to as Bobi Wine. Back in the early days, he approached me with the idea of a song titled ‘Wendi’, and when he sang the song, I wasn’t getting things well, but we did it.However, Washington revealed that one of his most memorable collaborations with Bobi Wine was Adam Ne Kawa, a song he says came together remarkably quickly.According to Washington, Bobi Wine arrived at his home with fellow musician Nubian Li in a blue pickup truck. After picking him up, the pair continued humming the song throughout the journey to the studio. Once they arrived, Washington says the recording and production process moved at an incredible pace.My most interesting song was ‘Adam Ne Kawa’. That day was very amazing. He came with Nubian Li, driving a blue pickup car. He first called asking where I was, and he picked me up from home. On the way, they kept on humming the song. By the time we reached the studio, it only took me five minutes. We completed the song in 30 minutes and he returned me home.Washington, however, admitted that one of the biggest challenges was bringing Bobi Wine and Nubian Li together vocally and ensuring that their styles complemented each other.Cindy calls internet feud between Gloria Bugie and Crysto Panda a fair fightAt the time, Jamaican duo Chaka Demus & Pliers were hugely influential, and Washington says he wanted to elevate Bobi Wine and Nubian Li to a similar level in terms of sound and musical chemistry.The challenging moment was combining Nubian Li and Bobi Wine to sound and rhyme well because, in those days, we had Chaka Demus and Pliers, and they were big. So, in my mind, I was trying to elevate them to that standard, and it worked out.
