ShareCoventry City have continued their transfer business with the signing of Stephen Mfuni after beginning their season with two league losses.Coventry City have brought in young defender Stephen Mfuni on a season-long loan from Manchester City.Mfuni becomes Frank Lampard's 11th signing since Coventry's promotion to the Premier League and will represent the Sky Blues in 2026-27.The 18-year-old joined City's academy as an eight-year-old in 2016 and made his first-team debut in January during their 10-1 FA Cup third-round win over Exeter City.Shortly after, he joined Championship side Watford on loan for the rest of the campaign, going on to make eight appearances."I feel blessed to be here; it's exciting," Mfuni, who won the FA Youth Cup with City in 2023-24, told Coventry's website."These are moments you dream of, and to do it with such a good team and a good squad, I'm looking forward to it."I spoke to the gaffer; he wants me to show what I normally do on the pitch, whether I'm at left-back or centre-back, and for me to keep being me and do what I do."It feels good and feels like somewhere I can be at home.
