The Hyderabad chapter of International Trauma Care (ITC) conducting a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on trauma care at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Saturday (August 29). | Photo Credit: Special ArrangementThe Hyderabad chapter of International Trauma Care (ITC) conducted a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on trauma care at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Saturday (August 29) bringing together trauma-care specialists, postgraduate medical students, nurses and paramedics.The programme focused on the growing burden of trauma and the need for a systematic and multidisciplinary approach to managing trauma patients.The CME covered several aspects of trauma management, including initial assessment of trauma victims, challenges in pre-hospital care, damage-control resuscitation and surgery, airway management, pelvic trauma and ocular trauma. Specialists from Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Trauma Surgery, Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, and Ophthalmology shared current practices and approaches to trauma care.A live demonstration of primary and secondary trauma surveys was also conducted using a moulaged standard trauma patient presenting with a head injury and femur fracture.Published - August 30, 2026 08:08 pm IST
