Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has hit back at the criticism aimed his way as his proposed return to Everton threatens to become increasingly complicated. On Sunday, it was reported that Spurs and Everton had reached an agreement over a double deal that would see Richarlison and Iliman Ndiaye move in opposite directions, with Tottenham paying £60m for Ndiaye and Everton paying £35m for their former forward.Ndiaye had even agreed personal terms with Spurs, but Richarlison had not done the same with Everton. Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Senegalese forward’s move to North London was dependent on Richarlison agreeing to return to his former club. That stumbling block has since opened the door for Manchester City and Arsenal to try and hijack Tottenham’s move for Ndiaye. Spurs supporters, desperate to see the deal completed, have directed plenty of criticism towards Richarlison, who has seemingly had enough.Credit: @thatfootballphotog / InstagramRicharlison hits back at Tottenham criticismLess than 24 hours ago, Richarlison posted a cryptic message on Instagram which read, “I’m the villain in many poorly told stories”, seemingly in response to Roberto De Zerbi’s previous revelation that the forward had asked to leave Tottenham several times. The 28-year-old has now addressed the situation directly, posting a lengthy message on his Instagram story amid the backlash. He wrote: “After everything I’ve been through in recent years, I decided that they would NEVER AGAIN decide my future for me. I’ve been through a lot of bad things these days and almost all of them happened because of decisions made by other people. “Pressure, threats, retaliations- none of this scares me. I’ve been through worse things… believe me!“I have always made it clear, at every opportunity, that an exit of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club. If it wasn’t, I would never accept… as I didn’t accept when everything here was falling apart and they (Spurs) needed me.“I stayed and gave my life. So, I hope you treat my situation with the same respect that I always had for Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don’t try to decide for me.“If they reach an agreement Spurs and Everton I go back to my favourite team. My intention was to return to the place where I was very happy. But the negotiations were the way people wanted, and it won’t be like this anymore. “Despite this turmoil, I have a contract with Spurs, and I will be at the club’s disposal”Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Iliman Ndiaye looks overRicharlison’s response is understandable given the unfair criticism he has received, particularly as he remains under contract with Tottenham and is entitled to decide what he believes is best for his future. His latest comments also appear to suggest that he is willing to rejoin Everton but on his own terms, with recent reports claiming the Brazilian is ‘mulling’ over offers amid interest from Turkey. Everton have meanwhile started looking at alternatives, including Monaco forward Folarin Balogun.Spurs may also be looking elsewhere, with reports emerging that they have made enquiries about Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk after Man City hijacked Tottenham’s deal for Iliman Ndiaye. With the transfer deadline now only around 24 hours away, the situation could change very quickly.READ MORE: Little-known Iliman Ndiaye detail could really boost Tottenham squad planningThe post ‘Don’t try to decide for me’ – Richarlison slams unfair criticism over Tottenham exit appeared first on Spurs Web.
