Betting on Pool 1 of the Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Future Wager closed Sunday with dual Classic winner Sovereignty (Into Mischief) topping the list as the 3-1 favorite, the Breeders' Cup announced Monday.The GI Kentucky Derby and GI Belmont Stakes hero led a field of 22 horses and “All Other Starters Not Listed” in wagering interest. The Classic Future Wager, which is a win bet only with a $2 minimum, generated $178,906 in total handle on Pool 1.Following Sovereignty was last year's Classic champion Forever Young (Jpn) (Real Steel {Jpn}) at 9-2 odds, and then Cherie DeVaux's dual Classic winner Golden Tempo (Curlin) at 8-1. Dominant GI Pacific Classic conqueror Knightsbridge (Nyquist) was fourth choice at 9-1 odds, followed by multiple Group/Grade I winner Magnitude (Not This Time) (11-1) and GISP Baeza (McKinzie) was sixth choice at 12-1.The wagering interest of “All Other Starters Not Listed” closed at 17-1, and Saturday's GI Travers Stakes upsetter Leading Change (Gun Runner) at 18-1 odds.
