The crazy part is not just how much she completely missed the point in the comments, but that she didn’t say a single word to indicate she is philanthropic in other areas. I once asked a bunch of men I know if they would help repair my neighbor’s home. I asked these men because they are part of a group (men only) who do repairs for people who are unable to do them or pay for them by themselves. That wasn’t generous on my part. That wasn’t even an act of kindness on my part. I asked someone else to be generous. I asked someone else to be kind. I didn’t offer to help because my handiness begins and ends with a paint brush. I’m not embarrassed that I didn’t offer to help, but I’m also not out here claiming this as a sign of what a Good Samaritan I am.
