Earlier today, at around 2am, the Police were informed that their assistance was required in Triq l-Imġarr, Mġarr, after two people sustained injuries.Police officers immediately went to the scene, where preliminary investigations found that a Kymco motorcycle, being driven by a 31-year-old man from Marsaskala, had been hit by a car. The driver of the car allegedly fled the scene in the vehicle.The motorcyclist, together with a 30-year-old man from Mġarr who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, were assisted by a medical team and taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital.They were later certified as having suffered grievous injuries.Intensive police investigations led officers to identify the vehicle shortly afterwards. The vehicle was found in Mġarr, where the alleged driver, a 19-year-old man from Mġarr, was arrested.Police investigations into the case are ongoing in order to establish the dynamics and circumstances surrounding the incident.•
