India's food regulator has banned compounded hing products from Everest and Laljee Godhoo. Samples from Everest were found misbranded and sub-standard, failing alcohol soluble extract norms. Laljee Godhoo's hing also failed quality tests and contained excess starch. Both companies must submit action plans to ensure future compliance.
