A hotel in Qawra was fully evacuated after a fire broke out in its laundry room, prompting a major emergency response.Firefighters from Civil Protection Department Stations 1, 2, 3, 4 and 11 were called to the scene after the blaze erupted in the hotel’s laundry room on Level -1.The fire was successfully extinguished by CPD firefighters. However, heavy smoke spread throughout the building, leading authorities to evacuate the entire hotel as a precaution.Ventilation operations remained ongoing following the incident as crews worked to clear smoke from the building.Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department was also deployed to the scene, alongside officers from the 11th Police District and Transport Malta officials, who assisted throughout the operation.The incident saw emergency services from across several stations mobilised to Qawra, with the situation brought under control without any reported casualties.Photo credits to @civilprotectionmalta•
