Epicenter’s Quibbler Powers to Debut Score

Wait 5 sec.

Glencrest Farm and 30A Thoroughbreds' Quibbler (f, 2, Epicenter–Hassler {Ire}, by War Front), dismissed at 22-1, bound home an easy winner of her debut at Kentucky Downs Sunday. The filly became the sixth winner for her freshman sire (by Not This Time).Unhurried early, Quibbler was patiently handled and settled well back in the field up the hill. Tipped to the center of the course at the top of the straight, the filly unleashed a powerful kick with a furlong to run and burst clear under a motionless Jaime Torres to win by some four lengths. Fifth Peg (Cairo Prince) was second and Sock Monkey (Greatest Honour) was third. The time for the mile over the undulating turf course was 1:37.97.Quibbler, a $20,000 KEESEP yearling purchase, is a half-sister to stakes winner Rich City Girl (City of Light). Her dam Hassler is a daughter of Grade I winner Turbulent Descent (Congrats). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0. O-Glencrest Farm & 30A Thoroughbreds. B-Jim and Donna Daniell.
