Teenage French forward Djylian N’Guessan has reportedly agreed to join Liverpool, but he won’t officially become a Reds player until next year.On Monday, Fabrizio Romano shared the news (via X) that the Merseyside club had agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old from Saint-Etienne, with a view to him linking up with LFC in 2027.Even if a deal gets done in the coming days, however, he won’t be registered with Liverpool immediately due to a bureaucratic obstacle.N’Guessan to spend the season on loan at BrestOn Tuesday afternoon, L’Equipe reported that Anfield chiefs have decided that N’Guessan will spend this season on loan at Ligue 1 club Brest in order to gain valuable first-team experience before he begins his Reds career in earnest.The Liverpool Echo elaborated that the striker will sign a pre-contract agreement with LFC to formally join the Merseysiders at the end of the campaign, with Saint-Etienne to retain his registration for 2026/27 as Liverpool have already filled their allocation of foreign loan slots.(Photo by Jasmin Walter/Getty Images)Want more Empire of the Kop coverage?
