Stains on items from strangers though?? And these are things for a newborn, things that are used for less than a year before being outgrown -- what stains are being caused by a newborn that can't be easily washed out? If someone gave me a stained baby mattress, I can assume that the whole thing is compromised because they weren't clean enough to be using mattress protectors & they also didn't address the stain when it first occurred... so who knows how much nastiness that mattress has soaked up.
