Friends of Kelly Caruana’s family have launched a fundraiser to help cover the cost of the 18-year-old’s cremation following her tragic death after a traffic accident in Qormi.Kelly died on Saturday, nine days after she was involved in a crash on Triq tal-Bajjada on 21st August.She had been travelling as a passenger in a car driven by a 20-year-old man when the vehicle crashed into a barrier. Both were taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where Kelly was initially found to have suffered serious injuries.Her condition later deteriorated and she sadly passed away.Now, friends of her family are appealing to the public for support as they prepare to give Kelly her final farewell.“With hearts full of love and sorrow, we are asking for your support to help cover the cost of cremating our beloved Kelly,” the appeal reads.They said the cost of the cremation has become a significant financial burden and stressed that every donation, regardless of the amount, could help Kelly’s family during the difficult period.Those wishing to contribute can donate through BOV or Revolut using 77068189, while those unable to donate are being encouraged to share the appeal.A magisterial inquiry into the traffic accident, led by Magistrate Joe Mifsud, remains ongoing.Lovin Malta extends its heartfelt condolences to Kelly’s family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.•
