I once invited a strange man into my dad's house because he said he was a friend of my dad and I was a very people pleasing teenager and if it was true I didn't want to be rude to one of his friends. He talked to me for like 10 minutes in our entry way then said he had the wrong house and the wrong person and when he went to leave he took my dad's hat. I asked for the hat back and then promptly locked the door. I'm still surprised I survived to adulthood with my (lack of) survival instincts. That also wasn't the first time I had invited a stranger into the house.
