Carol Rosenberg of The New York Times reported that a military judge ruled that confessions made in 2007 to FBI agents by Khalid Sheikh Muhammad (KSM), the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, were inadmissible. The United States captured KSM in 2003 and the CIA subjected him to various methods of torture. Most famously, he was waterboarded 183 times. Furthermore, he was also deprived of sleep for over a week, put in extreme stress positions, thrown against walls, endured rectal rehydration, and his torturers threatened to kill his children.Rosenberg stated that Judge Col Michael Schrama ruled that, “The prosecution has failed to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that Mr. Mohammad’s statements to the F.B.I. were voluntarily given.”Rosenberg also revealed that, “Defense lawyers had argued that Mr. Mohammed was essentially conditioned by the C.I.A. through torture, coupled with years of isolation and solitary confinement, to later tell F.B.I. agents what they wanted to hear. He was not allowed to consult a lawyer until long after he had confessed and was charged.”If the US government wanted to provide justice to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, they would have used lawfully obtained evidence to prosecute KSM and other alleged 9/11 conspirators in a court of law. Since KSM confessed to Al Jazeera reporter Yosri Fouda in 2002 that he planned the 9/11 attacks, why did the CIA torture him, which is not only illegal, but is known to produce unreliable testimony? I believe that the US national-security state does not want trials for KSM and other alleged 9/11 conspirators to occur because the trials might reveal that the attacks were enabled by the US national-security state. For example, the CIA protected two known Al Qaeda operatives, Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi, from the FBI. They were associated with Walid bin Attash (Khallad), the alleged mastermind of the USS Cole bombing. Hazmi and Mihdhar were granted US visas and lived openly in the United States prior to the 9/11 attacks, in which they were two of the alleged Flight 77 muscle hijackers during the 9/11 attacks. The 9/11 attacks were used as a pretext for the US national-security state to wage brutal wars of aggression that murdered at least 4.5 million people in Asia and Africa, destroyed multiple countries, and established Afghanistan as the world’s largest producer of heroin. At this point in time, it does not look like the truth regarding the 9/11 attacks will ever be revealed. The post KSM’s 9/11 Confession is Inadmissible appeared first on LewRockwell.
