Chandrasekhar formally passed the order based on instructions issued by the State government.The SIT will be headed by U. Preman, Commandant, KAP IV Battalion, Mangattuparamba. He will be assisted in the investigation by A.P. Asad, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kannur City.The State Police Chief has directed the SIT to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident to unearth all relevant facts and to complete the probe expeditiously. The team has also been instructed to submit a fortnightly progress report directly to the Police Headquarters as the inquiry proceeds.
