According to the volcano observatory (INGV Catania), a small lava flow began to spill onto the upper Sciara del Fuco at approx. 00:45 local time this morning.Ordinary Strombolian activity continues at both the North and Central-South crater areas, alongside spattering from the North crater area (with variable intensity). From a seismic perspective, the average volcanic tremor amplitude remains within the moderate range. No significant changes have been observed in the occurrence rate or amplitude of explosion-quakes, nor have there been significant variations in the time series data from ground deformation monitoring stations.As of this morning, it seems that the lava flow was only short-lived, after having reached a length of estimated 100-150 m, and now has stopped or is only very weekly fed.
