An SUV evaded a security checkpoint on the Jammu-Srinagar highway early Friday. Police opened fire at the fleeing vehicle, which was traveling from Srinagar towards Jammu. The driver subsequently abandoned the suspicious Scorpio near Dalwas and fled the scene. A massive search operation involving district police, CRPF, and the Army was launched.
