With Uganda now having both Miss Uganda and Miss Universe Uganda, questions have emerged over the difference between the two pageants and which international competition each winner represents the country in.Although both are beauty pageants that crown Ugandan representatives, they are separate competitions with different organizers, franchises and international destinations.The main difference is the global pageant each competition feeds into. Miss Uganda sends its winner to the Miss World competition, while Miss Universe Uganda sends its winner to the Miss Universe pageant. This means the two crowns are not interchangeable, despite both representing Uganda on the international stage.Currently, Muhoza Trivia Elle is Uganda’s reigning Miss Uganda. She recently travelled to Vietnam to represent the country at Miss World 2026, continuing the long-standing tradition of the Miss Uganda crown sending its winner to the global Miss World competition.On the other hand, Mitchelle Daka made history after being crowned the first-ever Miss Universe Uganda.
