Malta’s residential property market recorded a drop in activity during July, with both final deeds of sale and promise of sale agreements declining compared to the same month last year.A total of 1,207 final deeds of sale involving residential properties were registered during July 2026, representing 65 fewer transactions than in July 2025.That works out to a 5.1% year-on-year decrease in completed property sales.Meanwhile, 1,147 promise of sale agreements were registered during the month, down by 80 agreements compared to the same period last year.The decline was slightly sharper when it came to promise of sale agreements, which fell by 6.5% year-on-year.The figures indicate a quieter July for Malta’s residential property market compared to 2025, with fewer properties reaching both the promise of sale and final deed stages.What do you make of the drop in Malta’s property transactions?•
