You can buy the whole Ghost Recon franchise for less than $15

Wait 5 sec.

Have you ever had that itch for a good, fun military co-op game that you can fire up with a friend without having to LARP as an actual US Marine? I did too. And, luckily, there’s an entire franchise tailor-made for that itch, and it’s on sale. And I’m talking about Ghost Recon. Ubisoft is hosting a publisher sale and has placed the entirety of the Ghost Recon franchise at a 90 percent discount, meaning you can snag every single game in the series for $14.75. The bundle includes the original Ghost Recon, as well as Island Thunder, Desert Siege, Future Soldier, Wildlands, and Breakpoint. Twenty-five years of gaming history for the price of a McDonald’s meal. Now that’s a deal right there. All the Ghost Recon games are good in their own way. Image via Ubisoft The Ghost Recon franchise is definitely one of the most famous franchises in gaming history. It went through many iterations, as you will see if you do pick up the franchise, starting as a nitty-gritty military series and slowly turning into a more casual, larger-than-life franchise once Wildlands and Breakpoint came around. I played a lot of Wildlands with my friends, and planning and executing operations on our own in a kind of sandbox environment was some of the most fun we’ve ever had. The game revolves more around cartels and modern problems rather than conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere (though there’s that, too, in the other entries), and you are basically given free rein over how to approach killing high-value cartel targets. It’s a unique experience to be sure, and since several of the Ghost Recon games have co-op, you’ll find a lot of different takes on a similar formula in there. The older games, I hear, have great campaigns as well, and for 15 bucks you might as well grab them even if they were awful. Just make sure you at least run them once. It’s a shame to add to your backlog and have that “Last time played: Never” text staring you down every time you accidentally click on one of these games.
