GCB Bank has been appointed to the National Planning Committee and several technical sub-committees overseeing Ghana’s participation in the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2026.The appointments, made by the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, relate to Ghana’s preparations for the international trade and investment exhibition.Under the arrangement, the Bank will chair the Budget and Fundraising Committee, co-chair the Marketing and Publicity Committee, and serve as a member of the Business and Investment Committee.According to the Ministry, the appointments were based on GCB Bank’s experience in supporting Ghana-China trade, exporter development, stakeholder engagement and previous national trade initiatives.In a related development, the Bank has nominated Aurelia Baaba Ofori Odame, Head of its State-Owned Enterprises and Afro-Asia Banking Department, to represent it on the National Planning Committee for Ghana’s participation in the China International Import Expo 2026, the Specialised World Expo 2027 in Belgrade, Serbia, and the Green X Expo 2027 in Yokohama, Japan.The committees are expected to coordinate Ghana’s participation in the exhibitions, which are aimed at promoting trade, investment and international business partnerships.Commenting on the appointments, Ms Ofori Odame said they reflected the Bank’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s international trade objectives.“We are honoured by the confidence the Ministry has reposed in GCB Bank.
