Hannah Waddingham Embraced The Little Black Dress Trend For An Empowering Reason

Wait 5 sec.

I’m always here for a little black dress fashion moment. However, Hannah Waddingham just took it to a whole new level. Not only did she rock a beautiful LBD to celebrate the premiere of Ted Lasso’s fourth season on the 2026 TV schedule, but she also had a very empowering reason for wearing it. So, when Hannah Waddingham attended the New York premiere of Ted Lasso, she wore a little black mini dress by Alice and Olivia that featured two stunning red and gold flowers on it. She paired it with some black stilettos and wore her hair in loose waves. All around, she looked stunning, which you can see for yourself below:(Image credit: Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images)Now, we’ve seen Megan Fox rock a little black dress, Sydney Sweeney has shared her take on the LBD, and Rachel Zegler wore a perfect mini black dress. The list of celebs who have slayed this trend goes on and on. However, Waddingham’s take is 100% one of my favorites. First of all, I was already obsessed with her style. So, it was a given that I’d adore this look. However, to dive into the details, I am so here for the intricate red and gold flowers, and I’m obsessed with the floral texture of the black garment. On top of all that, this dress perfectly highlights the actress's incredible physique. Her speaking to that point made this fashion moment all the more meaningful too, as she told Women’s Health: I think it's really important for women to see women that are confident in themselves. It's the very reason why I'm wearing a short dress again tonight. I've just turned 52, and I think my 70-year-old self would go 'Girl, get your pins out!'Hannah Waddingham’s confidence on screen, on the red carpet and in life is one of the major reasons I look up to her. She’s stunningly gorgeous, and she’s always owning it. That’s something I aspire to be, and I really appreciate that it’s a big reason why she chooses to dress the way she does. I also love that she celebrated her 52nd birthday by rocking this mini dress. Her legs (or "pins" as she called them) do, in fact, look amazing, and I’m 100% sure her 70-year-old self will be thinking that too. This kind of fashion choice also totally highlights why Waddingham’s career is empowering as well. In her most recent projects, Amazon Prime’s Ride or Die and Apple TV’s great show, Ted Lasso, she plays remarkably powerful and confident women. Obviously, she’s like this in real life too, and this LBD certainly helps emphasize that point. Now, as she celebrates her birthday, style, amazing physique, and the premiere of Ted Lasso Season 4, you can see her reprise her Emmy-winning role as Rebecca Welton by streaming new episodes of the soccer comedy every Wednesday with an Apple TV subscription.
