Players work every day, they want to play so when they don't play they are not happy," Maresca said, as reported by the Manchester Evening News."Omar did not play a lot last year so his desire is probably to play more minutes. It doesn't mean that he isn't going to play more minutes here but it's also his decision."Marmoush, however, is relishing the challenge."I'm enjoying myself a lot. Obviously, as a striker, it gives you confidence, and it gets you going in the flow, and I just had to tap it on the net, it just gives me confidence in the pre-season. It feels good, next is the Community Shield," he told City's website."We're trying to learn the new tactics, the patterns, and what the coach demands from us, and I think we're starting to get the hang of it."Obviously, after 10 years, what Pep [Guardiola] did here was unbelievable. It's not easy after the change, but we've done really well, and we'll go back home and keep going."Rodri is at the centre of much transfer speculation, but he is expected to return to Manchester City in the coming days.Enzo Maresca is expecting Rodri to link up with Manchester City in the coming days, while Omar Marmoush must make a call on his future.Rodri is at the centre of a transfer saga, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona keen on signing Spain's World Cup-winning midfielder.Reports suggest Barca are confident of striking a deal, though Rodri still has a year left to run on his deal with Man City. The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner has been on holiday since Spain's triumph over Argentina on July 19, but he will be returning to City this week."At the moment he will be in Manchester on [Friday]," Maresca told reporters in the wake of City's friendly win over Atletico Madrid in South Korea.Omar Marmoush scored twice in City's 3-1 triumph, with the Egyptian making the most of his opportunity in Erling Haaland's absence.Marmoush struggled to make an impact last term, scoring eight times in 36 appearances, only 16 of which were starts, and the forward has been linked with a move away. And Maresca said the decision will be Marmoush's, as the new City boss put him in the same category as goalkeeper James Trafford, who joined Leeds United earlier this week in search of regular minutes."The answer has to be similar to the one I answered about James Trafford.
