The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the alleged murder of a 54-year-old man and the shooting of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.The suspects, identified by police as Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bayon, were arrested as part of investigations into the shooting, which occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2026.In a statement issued on Sunday, August 9, the police said the arrests were carried out with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET).According to the police, the Weija Police received information on August 6 that a man and his wife had been shot at Beach Drive Estate.Officers from the Weija Division proceeded to the scene and found the victims, Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.The two were rushed to Fieney Hospital in Weija for medical attention, but Mr Rahman was pronounced dead. His wife was treated for injuries sustained in the shooting.Police said investigations subsequently led to the arrest of Adams Adder Almeida, who allegedly admitted during interrogation to shooting the couple.According to the police, the suspect told investigators that he and the victims lived in the same house at Tuba. He also allegedly claimed that the incident had affected him mentally, although the police statement did not provide further details on the circumstances leading to the shooting.The suspect further told investigators that the pistol allegedly used in the shooting had been given to him by a friend identified only as Gideon.Acting on the information, investigators proceeded to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but he was not found.“Efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations,” the police said.Police have also arrested Adams’ brother, Bala Bayon, for interrogation as investigations continue. The statement did not specify his alleged role in the incident.The Accra Regional Police Command said investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and locate Gideon, who is alleged to have supplied the firearm.
