No, I did, but I'm actually really turning into a bit of a Luddite and I am starting to worry about the effects of screens a few inches from our noses from a very early age. My generation already had PCs in schools towards the end. This was already viewed with massive consternation by then teachers, who back then I called idiot luddites. Now it's iPads in elementary school and no one knows if basic homework tasks are done with or without LLM help and elementary school teachers do not have the resources to test this and they don't have the resources to redesign their curricula as those are usually standardized. We really need standardized curricula and then better monitoring of tech use in early, early ages. Like, I don't think it was a good thing that even I USED screens so early now. And now there's an entire gen growing up essentially addicted to smartphones! And yes it is an addiction addiction is nothing more or less than reinforced behavior that is detrimental to the one doing it, drugs don't need to be involved..sex, shopping, gambling hell even work can fall into the tendencies and patterns of addictions. So yes, we now officially have a very very large part of society "addicted" to smartphones. The problem is that there is no end in sight because Smartphones unlike gambling or crack or daily unprotected sex have become essential to many lines of work and how the hell will you survive now without a smartphone? Hell, if you have no AI literacy you'll be fucked too nowadays. So I've just gotten totally turned off to tech, digitalization and automation as a trend. I feel like it's a trend of humanity to abuse knowledge. It's like, we could be making nuclear power. Instead, we've collectively decided that sucks, instead we use fossil fuels and have a bunch of nukes. It would have probably been better never to split the atom! We are only one man in one office in one bad mindset away from all dying over this. We are soooo lucky the cuban missile crisis and other crises unfolded the way they did! On those days, the responsibility of the fate of the entire world was placed on the shoulders not of the many but the few! The danger is just as inherent as in concentration of wealth.
