A deadly domestic incident rocked Michigan after a mother and her six children were killed by her husband. In the days since, a Reddit account verified as hers has offered a window into a marriage that had been under strain for years. What the Reddit account showed beyond the smiling TikTok videos According to The Detroit News, a Reddit profile under the username “MandyK1179” belonged to Karolkiewicz. When the outlet cross-checked details like the couple’s wedding date, the family’s ages, where they lived and what they did for work, it turned out to be the same Mandy. The posts talking about her marriage were written two years ago. In 2024, she wrote that her husband had been unfaithful, describing an affair with a younger colleague. “He was divorced and older than me,” she wrote, per People, talking about how the two had met when she was an intern. “Fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again — the same age I was when I was the intern.” She also wrote that walking away felt impossible with six children in the house. Mandy discussed going to therapy and quitting alcohol, saying she’d been sober for close to two years. Kristopher Karolkiewicz, who committed the murders and then killed himself, had been employed at the American Heart Association since 2023. His time there ended in July 2026, the same month as the killings. The association said in a statement that Kristopher had worked as a sales and marketing person.
