Nintendo announced on social media that it will start offering Animal Crossing keychains featuring items found in the game series’ trees like fruits in 2026. These will first be at pop-up stores in Hokkaido and Sapporo starting on August 14, 2026. They’ll then appear in other stores in Japan in September 2026. It’s unknown if we’ll also see them at the New York and San Francisco locations eventually as well. They follow more traditional keychains of the animal characters from the game. There are seven items shown in this collection in the announcement. Five are different types of fruits that can be found on trees, and the other items are a Bell Bag and Beehive. Each of the fruits also has a small leaf charm like the one seen as a game icon, while the Bell Bag has a coin attached and Beehive has a medicine bag with it. None of the exotic fruit varieties are in the collection. Only the original five, which are the apple, cherry, orange, peach, and pear, are part of the line. A price wasn’t mentioned, but since these are capsule machine toys they’ll likely appear in the Nintendo Store gachapon machines that typically cost around 500-600 yen (~$3) per try. These aren’t the only charms based on the series showing up recently. There are also some personal marker charms in capsule machines in Japan now. The featured characters for that collection involve both NPCs and villagers who can live in your town, however.
