Universal Epic Universe has been open for more than a year, but Universal Orlando Resort still appears to be taking a cautious approach when it comes to expanding access to its newest theme park. Now, Universal is selling tickets for a different way to experience Epic Universe—one that promises fewer guests, shorter hours, and some added perks.Tickets are officially available for Universal Nights at Epic Universe, a limited-capacity after-hours event taking place on just two nights this fall.Credit: UniversalFor guests willing to pay the additional price, the event offers something that could be particularly appealing at a park filled with popular new attractions: a chance to explore Epic Universe with a smaller crowd. But the ticket offering also raises another question that has followed Epic Universe since opening day. When, if ever, will Universal Orlando Annual Passholders receive regular admission to the park as part of their passes? So far, Universal still isn’t giving any indication that change is coming.Universal Nights Brings Limited-Capacity Access to Epic UniverseUniversal Nights at Epic Universe will take place on October 3 and October 17.The event officially runs from 9 p.m. until midnight, giving ticketed guests three hours of after-hours access. However, attendees can enter Epic Universe as early as 7 p.m.That effectively gives guests up to five hours inside the park.More importantly, Universal is advertising the event as a limited-capacity experience. All attractions and experiences across Epic Universe’s five worlds are expected to operate during Universal Nights. That means guests will be able to explore Celestial Park, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. For anyone who has wanted to experience Epic Universe without dealing with the park’s normal daytime crowds, that’s likely the biggest selling point.Universal is essentially giving guests a smaller window of park time in exchange for potentially getting more done during those hours.Tickets Start at Nearly $180 Per PersonOf course, lower capacity doesn’t come cheaply.Tickets for Universal Nights start at $179.99 per person. Universal Orlando Annual Passholders can receive a 10% discount on event admission. That’s an important distinction.Passholders aren’t receiving admission to Epic Universe through their existing annual passes. They’re simply receiving a discount on a separate ticket.Universal is also offering additional benefits during the event.Guests can receive complimentary snacks, including berry-flavored Celestial Popcorn and crispy Kimchi Bao in Celestial Park. Attendees will also receive a cup that can be refilled at Coca-Cola Freestyle locations. Character appearances are included, and Celestial Goodnight will be part of the evening.Credit: UniversalPremier Passholders can save 15% on food and merchandise during the event, while Preferred Passholders receive a 10% discount. Those perks add some value, but Universal Nights is still another separately ticketed way to enter Epic Universe. And that continues an interesting pattern.Epic Universe Remains Separate From UOAP AdmissionEver since Epic Universe opened in May 2025, one of the biggest questions surrounding Universal Orlando Annual Passes has involved the new park.Would Universal eventually add Epic Universe to its existing annual passes?More than a year after opening, that still hasn’t happened.Universal has found other ways to give Passholders opportunities connected to Epic Universe, including discounts and separately purchased admission. Universal Nights follows that same basic strategy.Rather than expanding the annual pass itself to include regular Epic Universe admission, Universal can continue selling access to the park separately. That doesn’t mean Epic Universe will never become part of the standard UOAP lineup. Universal could change its annual pass structure at any point. But there hasn’t been an announcement confirming that such a change is coming. And the continued rollout of separate Epic Universe ticket products doesn’t exactly make it look imminent.Could Epic Universe Stay Outside Annual Passes for Much Longer?Epic Universe represents an enormous expansion for Universal Orlando Resort. The park opened on May 22, 2025, introducing five worlds and several attractions that immediately became major draws for the resort.Keeping Epic Universe outside the traditional annual pass structure gives Universal greater control over attendance while also allowing the company to continue selling admission separately.Universal Nights takes that strategy in another direction.Instead of simply selling another daytime ticket, Universal is now selling a premium, limited-capacity nighttime experience built around the idea that guests can enjoy the entire park with fewer people around. For Passholders waiting for Epic Universe to simply become another park included with their existing pass, that’s worth watching.A 10% discount is certainly better than paying full price, but it’s still a long way from unlimited or regular admission being included with a UOAP.Credit: UniversalUniversal Isn’t Showing Signs of Rushing an Annual Pass ExpansionAt this point, there’s no confirmation that Universal Orlando plans to keep Epic Universe outside its annual passes permanently.Still, Universal’s current ticket strategy gives the company little reason to rush.Epic Universe remains new, demand remains strong enough to support separate ticket products, and Universal is now experimenting with premium after-hours access on top of regular admission. If these ticket offerings are any indication, UOAP holders may still have a long wait before Epic Universe becomes part of their standard annual pass benefits—if Universal ever decides to include it at all.For now, Passholders who want the lower-capacity experience will need to purchase another ticket.Universal Nights at Epic Universe takes place October 3 and October 17, with admission starting at $179.99 per person and Passholders eligible for a 10% ticket discount. It’s another new way to experience Universal’s newest theme park. It may also be another sign that Epic Universe isn’t joining the regular UOAP lineup anytime soon. The post Universal Now Selling Tickets for Lower-Capacity Visits to Epic Universe appeared first on Inside the Magic.
