I wanted to share my experience because I know how frustrating hair loss can be, especially when you feel like you’ve already tried everything. I initially had a really good response to minoxidil. I saw noticeable regrowth, but eventually I felt like I plateaued. I stopped using it for a while, lost some of the gains, and when I restarted months later, I unfortunately never felt like I got back to the same point. That’s when I started looking more seriously into other options. I eventually added topical finasteride through a compounded formulation, and honestly, it has been a game changer for me. I’m still hoping for more density and I’m nowhere near done with my journey, but I’ve seen enough improvement to feel genuinely encouraged. My current routine is basically: Topical finasteride 0.25% + Minoxidil 5% Microneedling / dermastamping Tretinoin Iron supplementation to address my iron levels Vitamin D Nizoral / ketoconazole shampoo Caffeine shampoo Scalp massage Trying to maintain a better, nutritionally balanced diet I’m also considering PRP and potentially low-level laser therapy as additional options later. I’m sharing this mainly because I see so many women getting discouraged when minoxidil doesn’t seem to be doing enough anymore. My experience has shown me that a plateau with one treatment doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve reached the end of what is possible. Obviously, this is just my personal experience. Finasteride isn’t appropriate for everyone, and anyone considering it should discuss it with a dermatologist. But seriously, don’t lose hope. 🤍 submitted by /u/farahali_98 [link] [comments]
