Newcastle United’s new manager Matthias Jaissle has revealed that he was powerless to stop Bruno Guimaraes from moving to Arsenal this summer because a plan was already in place for the midfielder to move to the Emirates before he arrived.Guimaraes had been a key part of the Newcastle United team since joining the club and served them well under Eddie Howe, who has left his managerial role this summer.Howe’s departure came as a surprise, but after Newcastle failed to qualify for the Champions League, it was clear that the club was entering a period of transition. Although he was able to speak with the midfielder, there was little he could do to alter a decision that had already been made.Guimaraes leaves Newcastle after playing an important role for the club since his arrival.
