Technical Analysis, 10th August, 2026Germany 40, DailySPREADEX:GDAXISpreadexWall Street has extended last week's breakout to fresh record highs, with the former flat resistance zone now acting as support underneath. Price remains well clear of VWAP and momentum stays firm, keeping the near-term structure decisively bullish, though the pace of the advance leaves scope for a pause. The index has pushed to new highs following its breakout from the summer range, with the prior resistance shelf now underpinning price as support. Momentum remains strong and RSI is edging toward overbought, so while the trend stays firmly higher, the move is becoming stretched. UK 100 is consolidating just beneath its recent highs after last week's impulsive advance, with price still comfortably above VWAP and the rising trendline beneath it. The pause looks corrective within an intact uptrend rather than a change in direction. Cable has pushed higher off its rising trendline support, closing in on the descending trendline from May that has capped previous rallies. The strength of the move keeps the near-term bias bullish, though a rejection at that overhead trendline would keep price within its broader sideways range. EUR/USD is extending the breakout above its descending trendline, holding well above VWAP with the advance continuing to build. The structure remains constructive, though the pair is yet to have reached overbought and the bullish change of trend is not confirmed. USD/JPY is stabilising after last week's sharp breakdown, bouncing off a flat support (155) that has now been tested twice. Price remains below VWAP and the broken rising trendline overhead, so this looks like a corrective recovery within a fresh downtrend rather than a reversal - though the previous similar drops did indeed reverse. Gold has broken decisively higher out of its multi-week triangle, pushing to fresh highs with strong momentum and RSI approaching overbought. The breakout marks a clear shift from the prior downtrend, with the former triangle top now the level to hold on any pullback. Brent Crude is consolidating after failing to clear its recent high, drifting back below VWAP while holding above rising trendline support. The broader recovery structure remains intact, but the rejection at resistance suggests a period of sideways digestion before the next directional move.
