Anand said the police department was undergoing a transformation and being reoriented to meet policing requirements over the next 15 to 20 years.Mr. Anand reviewed the performance of Warangal Police and examined trends across major crime heads at a meeting held in Warangal on Sunday.The meeting was attended by Superintendents of Police of EAGLE, Cyber Security Bureau (CSB), TG-SPARK and CID, besides senior officials of the Warangal Police Commissionerate.In his opening remarks, the DGP traced the transformation of policing over the past three decades, from the peak of Left-Wing Extremism in the 1990s and its eventual end to the restructuring measures being undertaken to tackle emerging challenges, including cybercrime, narcotics and organised gangs.He sought updates from investigating officers on economic offences, including the Akshara Chit Fund case, as well as cases registered under the POCSO and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.He directed the officers to take stringent action against diversion of PDS rice and to invoke the PD Act based on proposals received from the Revenue and Civil Supplies Departments.Warangal Police Commissioner N.
