B T C : (Since the Start of August)Bitcoin / US DollarCOINBASE:BTCUSDKennyYenKenSince the beginning of August, Bitcoin has entered the month in a period of consolidation and uncertainty rather than a clear bullish breakout. After recovering strongly from the June sell-off, BTC carried momentum from July into August, but the market has struggled to push decisively above the mid-$60,000 area. Bitcoin was trading around the $64,000–$65,000 region during the first week of August, showing that buyers are defending the recovery but are still facing significant resistance. The important part of the August structure is that Bitcoin is currently testing whether July's recovery was the beginning of a larger reversal or simply a relief rally inside a broader correction. Before August began, BTC had recovered from its June low around $58,559 on a closing basis, reaching the mid-$60,000s by late July. However, buying momentum and institutional flows had weakened considerably going into August. Weekly U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows had fallen from approximately $197 million to $33.8 million, indicating that institutional demand was cooling. Technically, the $66,000–$67,000 region is extremely important. Bitcoin needs to break and establish itself above this area to demonstrate that buyers are genuinely taking control. A sustained move above roughly $66,885 would strengthen the bullish structure and potentially open the way toward the $76,000 area. On the other hand, failure to break resistance and a return below the $61,000 region would weaken the recovery and could bring the June lows back into focus. From a trading perspective, August is therefore shaping up as a decision month for Bitcoin. Bulls have successfully prevented another major collapse and have kept BTC above the June lows, but they have not yet produced the breakout necessary to confirm a new major uptrend. The market is essentially trapped between support around $61,000 and resistance around $66,000–$67,000. A breakout from this range, particularly if accompanied by stronger volume and improving ETF flows, would provide much stronger confirmation of the next directional move. Overall, Bitcoin's August performance so far can be described as cautiously bullish but not yet convincingly bullish. The recovery from the June lows is encouraging, and the recent reaction around $64,000–$65,000 shows that buyers remain active. However, until BTC can reclaim higher resistance levels with conviction, the market remains vulnerable to another rejection. For a trader watching the chart, the key question is no longer simply whether Bitcoin can recover—it is whether buyers have enough strength to turn the current recovery into a sustained trend.
