After signing Trossard, Besiktas return for Arsenal striker

Wait 5 sec.

Besiktas are reportedly looking to raid Arsenal for a second time this summer, with Gabriel Jesus now attracting interest from the Turkish giants following Leandro Trossard’s move to Istanbul. The Gunners have already done business with Besiktas during this transfer window, selling Trossard to the Turkish club. Now they could potentially find themselves back around the negotiating table, this time over Gabriel Jesus.According to Metro, citing reports from Turkish publication Fanatik, Besiktas have approached Arsenal over a potential deal for the Brazilian striker.Separate reports in Turkey also claim contact has been made as Besiktas explore the possibility of adding Jesus to their attack.Arsenal reportedly want £20m for Gabriel JesusThe report claims Arsenal are looking for around £20million for the 29-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current contract.Crucially, the Gunners are said to be interested in a permanent transfer rather than a loan. That position would certainly make sense if Arsenal have decided they are prepared to move Jesus on this summer. With his contract moving towards its final year, this window represents an opportunity to secure a transfer fee rather than allowing the situation to drift. There is also other interest in the striker, with Napoli already linked with a move for Jesus. We reported recently that the Serie A club had made contact over a possible transfer, with Arsenal again said to be insisting that only a permanent departure would be considered.Besiktas now appear to have joined the conversation.(Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images)Could Jesus follow Trossard to Besiktas? There would be an interesting familiarity to the move should it happen.Trossard has already swapped north London for Besiktas this summer, and the Turkish club clearly know Arsenal well following those negotiations.Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and has remained part of Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad, including featuring during pre-season.However, Arsenal now have considerable competition for places in attack, and the latest interest could present the club with another opportunity to reshape the squad before the transfer window closes.Whether Besiktas are prepared to meet Arsenal’s reported £20m valuation remains to be seen. But after successfully taking Trossard to Istanbul, they now appear keen on making it two Arsenal forwards in the same summer. What do you think, Gooners? Would £20million represent good business for Gabriel Jesus, or would you prefer Arsenal to keep him as part of Arteta’s attacking options this season?
