SPX Hourly: Build Scenarios Before Looking for the TradeS&P 500SPCFD:SPXheavydiligenceOnce the daily structure is mapped, I move down to the hourly. Now the question changes. The daily asked: Where are the important areas? The hourly asks: How could price reasonably move through them? I currently see three broad possibilities. Constructive scenario If SPX continues accepting above the current structure around 7,760, the market could begin another expansion higher. I intentionally kept the projected path modest. I am not saying SPX is going directly to 8,000. I am saying continued acceptance above current resistance would preserve the constructive structure and make higher levels increasingly relevant. Consolidation scenario This may actually be the least exciting and most natural possibility. Price could spend considerable time rotating around 7,700–7,760, occasionally pushing beyond either side before returning to the range. That would allow the recent rally to digest without immediately producing another major directional move. It may also be the least attractive environment for me to trade aggressively because evidence can become much less clean inside repeated rotation. Bearish scenario If SPX loses 7,700 and begins accepting below it, my attention moves toward the open gap. Failure through that structure would then begin reopening the larger daily Area of Agreement below. Again, that does not mean I expect a collapse. The bearish path is there because I want to know what structural deterioration would look like before it starts happening. Then the catalysts arrive CPI Wednesday and PPI Thursday provide obvious moments where one of these scenarios could accelerate. Hormuz and oil headlines remain another wildcard. But even then, the news does not create the trade by itself. This is where I continue working down in timeframe. Daily = structure. Hourly = scenarios. Shorter timeframes = evidence, confirmation, invalidation and eventually the trade. I do not need to correctly predict which colored path SPX follows. I want to recognize it quickly if price begins choosing one. That’s the point of Sunday preparation.
