BSX: Strong Growth, Weak Signal - I’m Waiting for the TurnBoston Scientific CorporationBATS:BSXstouflacrucoBSX has fallen from roughly $110 to around $49, cutting more than half its value from the 2025 peak. The interesting part is that Boston Scientific is not a broken business. Revenue, margins and EPS are still growing. But the Master Buy Scanner V2 is telling a very different story on price: Fundamentals attractive. Technical reversal not ready. Master Buy Scanner V2 — Monthly Score: 1/3 Action: WAIT Decision: WAIT BUY state: NO EVENT Entry quality: WEAK — 15% Setup maturity: LATE Position size: NONE — 0% WT cross: NO Band 1: RED Combined: ORANGE 2/10 Bands synchronized: NO Cycle: NO WT1 / WT2: -45.65 / -30.02 The 3-week chart is slightly more constructive, with a 2/3 score, 60% entry quality and an active cycle. But even there, the WT cross is missing, Band 1 remains red and the bands are not synchronized. So this is not yet a bottoming signal I would chase. The business is still performing Boston Scientific delivered $5.44B of Q2 revenue, +7.5% reported and +7% organic. Adjusted EPS rose from $0.75 to $0.86, while adjusted operating margin expanded 70 bps to 28.4%. Free cash flow reached $1.29B for the quarter. The strongest areas remain cardiovascular. Interventional Cardiology & Vascular Therapies grew 12.1% organically, Neuromodulation grew 12.2%, and Interventional Oncology & Embolization grew 11.8%. The scanner reflects that quality: Business quality: 2.5/3 — 83% Return on capital: 8.66% Margin trend: +4.55% Growth score: 4/4 3Y profit growth: 63.23% 3Y sales growth: 16.54% So why has the stock been hit so hard? There are some genuine reasons for caution. WATCHMAN grew only 4.2% organically in Q2 and underperformed management expectations as the left-atrial-appendage-closure market slowed. Electrophysiology still grew 9.1%, but U.S. growth was only 3% amid competitive pressure, while Cardiac Rhythm Management declined 1.6%. More importantly, management lowered its 2026 outlook. After Q1, Boston Scientific expected reported sales growth of 6.5%–8.0% and adjusted EPS of $3.34–$3.41. By Q2, guidance had moved to 5.5%–6.5% reported growth, 5%–6% organic growth and $3.28–$3.32 adjusted EPS. That slowdown matters when a stock previously carried a premium growth valuation. The Penumbra deal adds another layer Boston Scientific is also in the process of acquiring Penumbra. The transaction includes approximately $11B of cash consideration financed with cash and new debt, with the remainder paid in Boston Scientific shares. Management expects the deal to dilute adjusted EPS by roughly $0.06–$0.08 in the first full year, before becoming neutral to slightly accretive in year two. Boston Scientific still expected the transaction to close in the second half of 2026 as of its Q2 presentation. Strategically, Penumbra adds attractive neurovascular and thrombectomy exposure. Financially, however, it introduces significant integration and leverage risk at a time when BSX's organic growth is already moderating. Valuation is finally getting interesting The scanner now gives BSX 5.5/7 on valuation: Cash yield: 4.98% Business-price multiple: 12.55 Cash-flow multiple: 20.55 Earnings multiple: 20.0 Profit/share: $2.47 Debt-to-equity: 0.51 That is far more attractive than at the highs, although I would be careful with the current leverage metric because the large Penumbra acquisition has not yet closed. This is becoming reasonable value for a quality growth medtech, rather than outright deep value. Key technical levels Immediate support: $43–$45 Current area: ~$49 First resistance: $52–$55 Recovery confirmation: $60–$65 Major resistance: $70–$75 Structural recovery zone: $90+ What I really want to see is not simply a higher price. I want the monthly WT cross, Band 1 turning green and synchronization appearing. That would tell me momentum is actually shifting rather than merely bouncing after a huge decline. My classification: QUALITY WATCH I like the underlying setup: Strong medtech franchise Continued organic growth Rising EPS Expanding margins Strong free cash flow 4/4 scanner growth score Much improved valuation Significant long-term cardiovascular pipeline But the chart is still saying: 1/3 monthly score. No WT cross. No cycle. No BUY event. So despite the 50%+ decline, I’m staying disciplined. Current verdict: WATCH — strong company, but wait for the technical turn. What would you do? A) Start small around $49 B) Wait for the scanner BUY signal C) Wait for confirmation above $55 Master Buy Scanner V2: Not financial advice.
