Apple Just Added These New Android Devices to Its Trade-In List

It's a weird time to be shopping for new tech. On the one hand, "RAMageddon" is making devices more expensive and harder to find; on the other, companies are trying new tactics to get you to buy new stuff more frequently. Take Apple: While it might be more difficult than ever to buy a MacBook Air from the company, Apple will now let you "lease" new products for one-, two-, or three-year agreements. Sure, Macs and iPads might cost more than ever, but you might find it easier to pay those prices over 24 or 36 months, interest-free.Each device's payment plan is presented without a trade-in in mind, but you can apply a trade-in if you choose to lease. Apple will lower your payments based on the value of the device you hand over at the time of signing. The better the value of your device, the lower your payments will be. What's especially interesting given the current tech market is that Apple seems to be sweetening the pot for customers with trade-ins, which will likely only push more towards this "Apple Upgrade" program. Apple increased the trade-in values for many of its products As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple just increased its trade-in values for a number of products. Most of these are Apple's own devices. The company bumped up the trade-in values of many iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and Macs, some more than others. You can now get up to $70 more for your iPhone 16 Pro than you could before, or up to $20 more for your iPhone 13 Pro Max. The actual amount depends on the device in question, and the condition you bring it to Apple in. If you're trading in a Mac, the numbers are definitely more significant. Apple bumped some models' trade-in values up over $100, and increased Mac Studio values by $260. That said, other values were much smaller: You can only get another $25 for your iMacs, and Apple didn't change the $315 maximum for your iMac Pro.Here's a full list of Apple's maximum trade-in values, assuming your device meets all qualifications: iPhone trade-in values iPhone 16 Pro Max: Up to $720iPhone 16 Pro: Up to $630iPhone 16 Plus: Up to $485iPhone 16: Up to $480iPhone 16e: Up to $310iPhone 15 Pro Max: Up to $530iPhone 15 Pro: Up to $420iPhone 15 Plus: Up to $340iPhone 15: Up to $335iPhone 14 Pro Max: Up to $405iPhone 14 Pro: Up to $335iPhone 14 Plus: Up to $235iPhone 14: Up to $235iPhone SE (3rd generation): Up to $85iPhone 13 Pro Max: Up to $340iPhone 13 Pro: Up to $285iPhone 13: Up to $205iPhone 13 mini: Up to $155iPhone 12 Pro Max: Up to $240iPhone 12 Pro: Up to $195iPhone 12: Up to $135iPhone 12 mini: Up to $90iPhone SE (2nd generation): Up to $45iPhone 11 Pro Max: Up to $160iPhone 11 Pro: Up to $145iPhone 11: Up to $110iPhone XS Max: Up to $95iPhone XS: Up to $70iPhone XR: Up to $90iPhone X: Up to $60iPhone 8 Plus: Up to $40iPhone 8: Up to $40Apple Watch trade-in valuesApple Watch Series 10: Up to $165Apple Watch Ultra 2: Up to $305Apple Watch Series 9: Up to $135Apple Watch Ultra: Up to $205Apple Watch Series 8: Up to $95Apple Watch SE (2nd generation): Up to $60Apple Watch Series 7: Up to $70Apple Watch Series 6: Up to $45Apple Watch SE (1st generation): Up to $30iPad trade-in valuesiPad Pro: Up to $720iPad: Up to $260iPad Air: Up to $490iPad mini: Up to $300Mac trade-in valuesMacBook Pro: Up to $855MacBook Air: Up to $580iMac: Up to $380iMac Pro: Up to $315Mac mini: Up to $480Mac Studio: Up to $1305Mac Pro: Up to $2195More Android devices qualify for Apple's trade-in program tooEqually noteworthy, however, is that Apple has expanded the list of Android devices eligible for trade-in values too. If you're looking to switch from Android to iPhone, there's a good chance Apple will give you some money towards a new purchase or lease. New this week are the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Google Pixel 9, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13R. While that's good news for these devices owners looking to upgrade, some Android users have some bad news: Apple lowered trade-in values for the following: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, Google Pixel 8 Pro, Google Pixel 7 Pro, and Google Pixel 7. Apple only reduced these values by $5 or $10, so it isn't major, but it's interesting to see which devices the company feels aren't worth quite as much.
