One of the ways it can be tackled is by providing them nutrition supplements. The OWOF has developed Sai Sure, a ready mix that can help them overcome this. We plan to launch a mission to make the district anaemia free, the founder said, during “Divya Sanjee” dialogue held at the KLE JNMC auditorium. Educationist and principal C.N. Naykar conducted the dialogue.“Since the opening of Sri Madhusudan Sai Medical College Hospital in Chickballapur district, there has not been a single death of infants or pregnant mothers during delivery. That is because it has build and strengthened the health infrastructure in rural area. We hope to see Belagavi reach that stage in future. We should all work towards that,” he said.He said it would cost ₹2 a day to provide a woman with Sai Sure and appealed to the society to contribute the rest.Prabhakar Kore, KLE society honourary chairman, promised to bear rest of the cost. However, he said that the practice of giving supplements should be started with girls as young as 13. “Healthy women give birth to healthy children. A healthy society will be formed ultimately,” the seer said.B.N. Narasimha Murthy, president of Prashanthi Balamandir Trust, said that the OWOF was running free residential schools across the State and that more such Gurukul schools would be started in north Karnataka in future. He said the foundation was working on several areas of welfare for 15 years now.The programme began with the recitation of the Veda by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Nithyaniketanam Gurukul in Khanapur in Belagavi district. At the end of the programme, some students of “Sri Sathya Sai Lok Seva Gurukulam” educational institutions presented a musical performance.RSS regional convenor Raghavendra Kagawad, former Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi, KLE society director Mahantesh Kavatagimath, MLA Abhay Patil, former MLA Shyam Ghatge, BJP leaders M.B. Zirli, Deputy Commissioner of Police N.V. Baramani and others participated.Some students of the Gurukul shared their experiences. M. Sanvin from Raibag who came from a humble background said that the care and concern of his teachers had ensured that he had stayed in school despite a medical condition.“My father works as a mechanic in my village. I am studying in class 10 at Sri Sathya Sai Prema Niketan Gurukula in Kalaburagi. When I was in class 7, I got a skin infection. The doctor advised me to go home. But the Gurukula teachers and staff ensured that I would not miss my lessons.
