Wait 5 sec.

Oh I have a story. I knew a guy who wouldn't wear the same pair of socks twice. He wouldn't wash them, he just threw them away after one wear. Two pairs a day, most days. His sock budget was substantial. I thought it was just a bizarre quirk but turns out he grew up super poor, like the power and water were off on a regular basis and they usually had to bathe once a week at the neighbor's house. I guess brand new socks were one thing he could give himself as an adult that obviously meant something. (He got married and has step kids and he doesn't throw away socks like that anymore.) That's not what's going on here though.
